Uckfield Mens shed @ Unit 14 | Blackboys | England | United Kingdom

Men’s Sheds are a nationwide organisation that aim at dealing with the social isolation of men especially those who have retired although membership is open to all from 18+.  They have been set up to offer men the opportunity to meet others in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, to learn, practice or hone skills and to promote their mental health and wellbeing.

Men’ Sheds (or Sheds) are similar to garden sheds – a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice skills and enjoy making and mending. The difference is that garden sheds and their activities are often solitary in nature while Men’s Sheds are the opposite. They’re about social connections and friendship building, avoiding isolation, improving mental health, sharing skills and knowledge, and of course a lot of laughter.
