Current restrictions

  • All shops can reopen
  • Hairdressers, beauty salons and other close-contact services can open
  • Restaurants and pubs are allowed to serve food and alcohol to customers sitting outdoors
  • Gyms, spas, zoos, theme parks, libraries and community centres can all open
  • Members of the same household can take a holiday in England in self-contained accommodation
  • Up to 15 people can attend weddings and 30 can attend funerals
  • Children can attend any indoor children’s activity
  • Care home visitors will increase to two per resident
  • Driving lessons can resume, with tests restarting on 22 April.

Uckfield FM to take part in Mental Health Minute

Chailey Repair Café are delighted to announce that they will be reopening in June.

This first face to face Repair Café of 2021 will be for “drop off” repairs only. Taking place Saturday 12th June 10am – 1pm. You’ll be able to talk through the problem with one of the team and if they think they can fix it they will take the repair away and let you know when it’s ready for collection from the volunteer’s home. New scam warning for local businesses

Businesses are being warned about an official looking letter telling them they legally need to purchase air purifiers under covid restrictions. This is not true. Businesses that receive such letters should report it to Action Fraud UK

Daytime train service to increase

Daytime train services on the Uckfield Line will increase back to an hourly service when Southern Railway implement their new timetable on 16th May.

Volunteer for the Great British Spring Clean

Wealden District Council are once again supporting this national campaign to clear our outdoor spaces of litter. You can help during the event from 28 May until 13 June – sign up with the council to be provided with litter picking equipment and a collection service for the litter you collect.

The South Of England Show is back for 2021

It’s been a long-awaited date in the social calendar during the pandemic, but the South of England Agricultural Society is delighted to announce that the South of England Show will go ahead this year.

The show is held at the iconic South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex, which has been deemed a ‘Good to Go’ venue by Visit England. For the first time in its 54-year history, the event will run over a three-day ‘long weekend’ – Friday 11th to Sunday 13th June 2021 – to accommodate ticket demand from its growing, family-based audience.

Uckfield Theatre Guild Zoom Meetings 

Amateur dramatics group who have been performing musicals and pantos since 1995. For over 18 year olds. Whether you are interested in being a cast member, wardrobe assistant, back stage assistant, scenery artist, fundraiser or patron we would love to see you. Trial first rehearsal FREE so come along and have a try on us. Yearly membership £5 and currently weekly rehearsal fee £1. You are very welcome!
