One of their team of trained digital champions will offer friendly, patient support over the phone.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Offering Businesses Free Training
If you own a business or premises (Gym, office etc) that has had to close due to the lockdown, you may need to review your fire risk assessment as the risk of fire may well have changed. ESFRS runs free 30-minute live video training sessions on fire risk assessments and general fire safety every Tuesday via Zoom or teams, full details and how to contact and book a place are on the Guide.
Virtual Sussex School Games
The Sussex School Games return in February with their virtual winter games – each week children and parents can take part in a different winter sport from the comfort of their living room, including skiing and even bobsleigh! Your best score each week is added to your school total with various prizes available for both individuals and schools, full details online.
Further warning to COVID-19 rulebreakers
Warnings continue from Sussex Police to those not following current regulations – Sussex Police have issued over 165 fines for people found ignoring the rules, including a £10,000 fine to a man shooting a music video in a car park in Eastbourne and a fine was issued to a bar and restaurant in Forest Row when people were seen inside the venue.
Bus pass rules relaxed
Holders of concessionary bus passes are able to use them before 9.30am. East Sussex County Council are temporarily relaxing the rules to allow elderly and vulnerable residents to travel to early morning vaccination appointments.
Warning over fake vaccine messages
There’s a further warning about fraudsters contacting people telling them they’re eligible for the vaccine and asking for financial and other personal details. Genuine contact from the NHS will never ask you to press a button on your telephone or click a link to in a text message, nor will they ask for financial information.
Community Speedwatch looking for volunteers in Uckfield
Community Speedwatch is a national initiative where the community work with the Police to monitor speeds of vehicles using speed detection devices. They are looking for volunteers in Uckfield, you’ll be provided with full training by Sussex Police and you’ll have the support of your fellow volunteers when out on the roadside, so you won’t be on your own.

Spring Live! 2021 annnounced
The South of England Agricultural Society are planning to return this year with 4 shows, the first will be Spring Live at South of England Showground in Ardingly which is planned for the weekend of 24 and 25 April. The event will of course depend on government guidelines at the time. Full details online.
