A good weekend for Uckfield United!

In the Premier League, Brighton and Hove Albion went down to a four-one defeat by champions Manchester City at the Amex Stadium & in rugby union, Uckfield lost their 100 percent record, but remain unbeaten after a ten-all draw at Burgess Hill.

In Saturday’s local football, AFC Uckfield Town went down to a one-nil defeat at Peacehaven and Telscombe in the Southern Combination League – the home side scoring the only goal midway through the second half.

In the Mid Sussex League, Ridgewood shared the spoils with AFC Uckfield Town Reserves after a three-all draw.  There was a good win for Uckfield United, who moved up to second place in the table with a three-nil victory at Keymer and Hassocks.

Fletching beat FC Sporting six-one, while Maresfield were two-one winners at Ardingly Reserves.

Buxted lost two-nil at Roffey Development, while Nutley were beaten two-one at Nutfield, and Newick lost three-two at home to AFC Hurst.

There was a nine-goal thriller for Lewes in the Isthmian Premier Division, as they were beaten five-four at Sussex rivals Worthing.  Lewes took an early two-nil lead, but the hosts struck back to score five times before Lewes netted twice late on to set up a grandstand finish.
