Weekend Sporting Round Up

There was another disappointing result for AFC Uckfield Town

The Team had to settle for a point from a goal-less draw at home to lowly East Preston.

There were plenty of goals in the matches involving some of our main local teams in the Mid Sussex League – in particular Ridgewood, who crushed Southwick ten-one !

There was also a big win for Buxted, who beat Peacehaven and Telscombe six-two. Nutley were one-nil winners over Stones FC, and Fletching won at Ardingly by the same scoreline.

Newick drew one-all with Eastbourne Rangers Reserves, while Maresfield lost five-one at Lectern Lights Reserves. In a cup match, Uckfield United had a comfortable four-nil win at home to Icklesham Casuals.

In the Isthmian Premier Division, it was a tremendous day out at the seaside for Lewes, who came back from two-one down at half-time at Margate and romped to a six-two win.

It was a good weekend too for Lewes’ ladies team – they had a one-nil victory at home to Blackburn in the Championship.  Brighton and Hove Albion Ladies team had a fine two-one win over Tottenham Ladies in the Women’s Super League.
