Weekend sport preview

In tomorrow’s local football, there’s a big game for AFC Uckfield Town

The team will look to embark on what they hope will be another good run in this season’s national FA Vase. Uckfield take on Colliers Wood at the Oaks, where kick-off is at 3 pm.

In the Mid Sussex League, Ridgewood go to neighbours Buxted, while Uckfield United aim to make it two wins out of two with victory at Scaynes Hill Reserves. Nutley host Reigate Priory Reserves.  Fletching are away at Burgess Hill Rhinos. Newick visit AFC Hurst.

Following their disappointing FA Cup exit last weekend, Lewes revert to league matters tomorrow, when they entertain Enfield Town.

Brighton and Hove Albion return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to newly-promoted Brentford.

In rugby union, Uckfield have another friendly match tomorrow afternoon, when they take on Effingham at Hempstead Fields.

Sussex’s county cricket team begin their penultimate Championship match of the season on Sunday morning, as they visit Leicestershire.

Good luck to everyone in the Uckfield FM area who will be taking part in the re-scheduled Brighton Marathon on Sunday.
