Uckfield Lions help this year managing the “Bluebell Walk” at Arlington raising funds for charity.
This year was different to previous years with none of the tasty lunches and teas normally associated with a stroll around the lovely wood. Instead, because of restrictions Uckfield Lions were limited to the management of the walk and seeing what they could gain by way of donations.
Military style operation
The operation involved checking the online bookings and taking money for raffle tickets while ensuring that Health and Safety standards were at their highest.
Frank Phillips told us; “We were lucky with a lovely sunny, if sometimes windy weekend with the maximum number of permitted visitors at just over 1000”.
The bluebells were well on their way and the wood anemones were magnificent.
The Lions were pleased to raise nearly £1200 for their District appeal for two Tempus monitor/defibrillator machines.
