Train Service Reductions from next week

Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) have announced that as of next week their service is reducing again!

The changes WILL NOT affect Uckfield line passengers, however a large number of “Southern” and “Thameslink” branded services are being removed from the timetable owing to staff shortages, caused by Track & Trace isolations and other issues.

The “Gatwick Express” service brand has not existed since Summer 2020 because of the pandemic, although the carriages are re-deployed around the network and can be seen still.

The main bullet points affecting our local area (not the Uckfield Line) are – Thameslink Gatwick to Bedford stopping services withdrawn, Croydon to Milton Keynes services withdrawn (that serve Shepherds Bush and Kensington), bar two early morning and evening services.

Other reductions include Caterham and Tattenham Corner lines curtailed at Purley and no services to Beckenham Junction.
