Teenager arrested after “Life saving” equipment vandalised

A teenager has been arrested after an incident at Buxted Football Club yesterday.

Sussex Police said on social media “We are investigating a report of a defibrillator being damaged and stolen at Buxted Football Club in Uckfield. The incident is believed to have taken place in the early hours of Sunday morning (13 June)”.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and remains in custody for questioning. “We are aware of a video circulating on social media and would ask the public not to post speculative comments or identify juvenile suspects”

The football club posted on social media a video and the following statement “If anyone knows the individuals in this clip – please don’t post the names or details here but report to Sussex police using the reference: CAD Number: 551-13.06.2021, if you wonder if you should contact the police – just consider for one moment that it could be your family or friends that may need this device one day”

The Police Investigation continues.
