Sussex Army Cadets sleeping rough

Army Cadets from Sussex are Sleeping out this weekend!

In a big effort to highlight the plight of homeless veterans, members of A Company Sussex Army Cadet Force will be sleeping out under the stars in their gardens.

Cadets that have no gardens will be sleeping in the bath or on the front room floor.

The campaign ‘The Great Tommy Sleepout’ which takes place this Saturday 27th March, is being championed by the Royal British Legion Industries RBLI across the UK.

It’s just a small part to highlight the fact that there are many veterans now numbering over 6000 who are currently sleeping rough across the UK.

The Army Cadets feel this is something worth fighting for and to show their solidarity by experiencing rough sleeping too. It doesn’t end there, they have to get up and cook a meal that Gordon Ramsey would be proud of and there will be prizes for the best one and of course for the best shelter and sleeping area.

All funds raised from this sponsored event will go to the RBLI’s GREAT TOMMY CAMPAIGN.

We wish them the best of luck with the challenge.
