Still time to have your say on Wealden Local Plan

You’ve still got time to share your views with Wealden District Council as part of the Direction of Travel consultation.

The Local Plan for Wealden will set out how the council responds to various issues including climate change, new housing requirements and enhancing the local environment.

Councillor Ann Newton, Wealden Cabinet member for Planning & Development said,

“Our new Local Plan will be the key document which we will use to assess planning applications over the next 15-20 years.

It is vital to hear the views of residents, businesses, voluntary organisations and town and parish councils at this early stage so that we can understand what is important to our communities, and plan accordingly.

It will be an opportunity to look ahead at new or improved infrastructure we would like to see, and find out more about the sort of Wealden where you would like to live, work and spend your leisure time.”

Your feedback will be used to formulate a Draft Local Plan, which will then be out for consultation in spring 2022.

You have until Monday 18 January to have your say. Take part online here.
