Reminder to be alert to fake vaccine messages

Fraudsters are using the vaccination rollout to target people with fake messages asking for personal details.

They are sending text messages or calling people posing to be from the NHS or a local pharmacy, telling you you’re eligible but asking for financial details or for you to provide documents to prove your identity.

Remember that the vaccine is only available from the NHS and they will never ask for money as part of the rollout, which is free.

Genuine requests from the NHS would also never ask for other personal documents to prove identity, nor will they arrive at your property unannounced to administer the vaccine.

Most vaccination services are being offered by GP surgeries, in Uckfield The Meads Medical Centre is providing the service for patients registered at:

  • Bird-in-Eye Surgery
  • Buxted Medical Centre
  • Herstmonceux Integrative Health Centre
  • Mid Downs Medical Practice
  • The Meads Surgery

Remember, you’ll be contacted by the NHS when you’re eligible.
