Lockdown improvements at Buxted FC

Village Heating replaced the hot water system at the David Butcher Pavilion free of charge

During lockdown, volunteers have been busy at Buxted Football Club and the David Butcher Pavilion.

The interior of the pavilion has been decorated and upgraded along with a complete refurbishment of the bar area.

New cladding has been added to the exterior and windows that provide a view of the pitch.

The work has also seen the addition of new outdoor furniture and the pitch has been improved with new topsoil and specialist treatment to improve drainage.

One significant issue was the hot water system, installed in the 1960’s when the pavilion was built. A replacement was required and was due to be costly to the club.

The response from Village Heating Director Darren Standing was simply ‘breath-taking’ said Buxted FC Chairman Richard Turner.

“Darren stated that replacing copper cylinders with like for like replacements was only one option Village Heating would like to supply and install two of the latest efficient high capacity stainless steel cylinders completely free of charge!”

True to their word, Village heating sent one of their specialist installers and after a long, hard day’s work the job was complete – leaving the David Butcher Pavilion ready to face the next sixty years.

Richard Turner added, “We cannot thank Darren and his team at Village Heating enough, what they have done for the club and the community is astounding.”
