Civic Centre to reopen for business on 12 April

With restrictions easing, Uckfield Town Council have announced some re-opening details.

“We are very happy to be able to welcome our customers back to the Civic Centre on Monday 12 April” in line with UK Government guidance on community centres and public buildings.

The centre offers a safe and comfortable environment for room hirers with hand sanitiser stations, test and trace recording and regular cleaning of touch points. Don’t forget visitors to the Civic Centre will be required to wear a mask or face covering when walking through communal areas.

Initially, due to building work, customers visiting the Civic Centre or visiting the Town Council offices upstairs, will need to enter the Civic Centre via the fire doors on the western side of the building adjacent to Tesco. There will be clear signage in place providing directions. The building work (removal of the glass atrium) is expected to be completed by early May.

Luxfords Restaurant is planning to open on 4 May offering a full menu outside. The seating outside will be arranged to allow for ample social distancing and the waiting staff will ensure that customers still enjoy the same friendly, relaxed service albeit in a slightly different environment.

It is then hoped to reopen facilities inside the restaurant from 17 May, in line with Step 3 of the UK Government’s roadmap.

“We would like to thank all our customers for their continued support during this time” said a spokesperson.
