Charleston set to fully reopen with two new exhibitions

Artist’s home and gardens on the South Downs set to fully reopen on 19 May

The former home of artists Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant and the Bloomsbury group is set to reopen to the public with some brand new exhibitions.

The new displays see the first major retrospective of work by British artist Nina Hamnett (1890-1956) and a series of new pieces on paper by artist Lisa Brice (b.1968). They’ll be running from 19 May to 30 August.

Along with the exhibits, Lewes based Caccia & Tails are providing a dinner service display celebrating famous women and a new café.

Under current guidelines, only the gardens are open for pre-booked appointments at the moment. You’ll find Charleston in the heart of the South Downs at Firle. For more details visit charleston.org.uk
