Care Home Open week is on from next week!
After an unimaginably difficult year for care home residents and their carers, care homes across the country will be celebrating their resilience during the annual Care Home Open Week with events held in a combination of virtual and socially distanced events to continue shielding residents from COVID as per government guidelines.
From June 28th-July 4th, care homes across East Sussex will be participating, including homes part of Southcare Homes, who are holding events in their homes in Ringmer, Seaford, Bexhill, Rottingdean (Brighton).
This year’s event will be particularly important to showcase the challenges care homes have overcome in the past year and celebrate the carers who made sacrifices for their residents during the pandemic.
Some highlights include:
Southgate’s Lime Tree House Residential Home in Ringmer have invited Paul Barber the Chief Executive of Brighton and Hove Albion for a virtual afternoon tea and chat with our residents to kick off the week on Monday the 28th.
On Tuesday the 29th They have invited a representative from Lewes Police, Fire and Rescue and Local GP over a cup of tea in the garden to share with us the challenges they encountered during this pandemic and what they love about their job.
