Bluebell Railway has launched an appeal to try and raise funds to renovate one of their stations. They are hoping to find at least £500,000 to restore the Horsted Keynes station, which has featured in many films and TV programmes.

Downton Abbey, Poirot, Grantchester and The Woman in Black have all featured the station, with many famous faces also visiting the location.

Uckfield’s Community Fridge had a successful trial run last weekend, with plans to be accessible for a few more days this week before the official opening on Saturday. Surplus food was shared whilst the fridge was open for two hours on Saturday from 10 until 12, and will also be open this Tuesday and Thursday. The fridge can be accessed from Luxford Field.

The hashtag #thinktwice is being shared across social media platforms by emergency services in Sussex. East Sussex County Council are among those who are highlighting the current strains on our emergency services across the county. A&E’s are extremely busy at the moment, with authorities urging people to call the NHS 111 line unless it’s an emergency.

Wealden District Council are reminding its residents that their satisfaction survey is now well underway. Run by the council, the survey is aiming to evaluate their performance and find out how residents feel about the area.

Residents who live within the district can expect a call any day until Wednesday 27th October on the council’s behalf.

This weekend sees the return of Bluebell Railway’s Autumn Steam Gala. From this Friday the 8th, to Sunday 10th October, different engines are set to be showcased, allowing visitors to jump on and off of the trains at its four stations. Food and drink will also be available at the stations throughout the weekend.

Two days of street dance are coming to Maresfield at the end of the month. On the 25th and 26th of October, Universal Dance are bringing their industry leading professionals to the town to learn the love for street dance.

All ages are welcome, and places for the two days can be booked online.
