Uckfield’s late night shopping night returns this evening following a year off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tonight from 6 until 9pm the shops will be open for festivities and the Christmas light switch on which will be taking place next to the Civic Approach.

The High Street will be closed between Bell Lane and Grange Road from 5:15pm until 10pm.

Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne has opened a survey asking residents across the county about the crime and safety issues that matter to them.

Other elements of the survey include Sussex resident’s experiences of contacting the police and about police funding.

The NHS East Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group are encouraging those who are eligible to get their covid booster vaccines.

Following the majority of people across the county having had their first and second dose, the group are urging residents to go for their booster as soon as they are eligible to help reduce the risk of carrying the virus.

As we head further into winter, they are also reminding people it isn’t too late to receive a flu vaccination., most of which are available to book through a GP or in a pharmacy.

And finally, the latest summary of COVID cases show that 184 people in Wealden tested positive yesterday, bringing the total to 1,124 in the last seven days.
