MISS SAMMY J
Miss Sammy J will be bringing the feel good factor to Chiddfest, singing a wide range of uplifting songs on Friday 22nd July. Owen Paul, the Scottish singer, producer and co-writer of the 1986 UK and European smash summer hit (My Favourite Waste Of Time) has done a wide variety of things since he hit the charts in the 80’s.
He played a leading role in a major musical theatre production, toured the UK and Europe with Phil Collins as one of ‘Mike and the Mechanics’, was their vocal arranger on the ‘Rewired’ album and was harassed by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne in the infamous ‘noisy neighbours’ episode on The Osbournes.

UNCLE FUNK’S DISCO INFERNO
Established in 1997, Uncle Funk’s Disco Inferno (formerly known as Uncle Funk & The Boogie Wonderband) are the UK’s top live disco band, booked every year for Glastonbury Festival and many other huge events.
Uncle Funk’s Disco Inferno play a winning set of disco classics and modern dance bangers! Every song in the set has been chosen with the dance-floor in mind – nothing indulgent, nothing obscure, just the hits!
Uncle Funk’s Disco Inferno is a new show featuring a nine-piece band of incredible musicians from the cream of the UK’s professional circuit.
TANKUS THE HENGE
Tankus the Henge have built their reputation on unforgettable song writing, spectacular live performances and relentless hard work, playing hundreds of shows across Europe and building a devoted fan base along the way. Their funk fuelled repertoire is wildly eclectic, ranging from New Orleans inspired swing to heavy rock riffs, and since their beginnings in the ratty alleyways of London’s Soho, the band has evolved into a wild groove machine.
Musically inspired by bands from the British invasion of the 60s and artists such as Tom Waits, Blur, Randy Newman and Queens of the Stone Age, and with lyrics influenced by 20th Century American Literature, specifically the Beat Generation and Gonzo journalism, Tankus the Henge defy cate gorisation. Their hair raising show, like no other, has to be seen and heard to be believed. Like a psychedelic, rock n roll octopus only with four more legs.
The Hawkmen draw from an array of influences such as rhythm’n’blues, soul, and rock’n’roll which they bring together in a classic, rootsy, hybrid blend. The band emerged as a full, live act in 2017 following the early successes of soul 45 and Craig Charles favourite, Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover (Record Kicks, Italy), a northern soul remix of Emma Beatson’s debut single Do It (selected by Craig Charles for the second volume of his Freestyle Records compilation series) and The Hawkmen’s blazing Keep On Working EP (Mocambo, Germany) which yielded another 45 and was widely played on BBC Radio 2 and Radio 6.
