Uckfield High Street Building Society and bank staff doing an amazing challenge

Hear Geraldene Maguinness, Manager at Nationwide Uckfield talking with Tony Williams about the walk

Staff from Uckfield High Street’s banks have all come together to help the community.

Staff from Nationwide Building Society, Halifax, HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest and Santander have worked as key workers throughout the pandemic and would like to give something back to those in need during these challenging times.

Colleagues from across the six branches are supporting two local charities the Uckfield Foodbank and Baby2baby with a virtual challenge.

The Challenge..

The teams are walking/running/cycling the distance from Lands’ End to John O’Groats and back virtually, and aim to complete 1813 miles between them over the coming months.

Geraldene Maguinness, Branch Manager, Nationwide Building Society said: “It fantastic to be able to come together as a community in this way to support two fantastic local charities. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, we are making good progress and have made it to Glencoe in our virtual Lands’ End to John O’Groats challenge so far.”

If you want to support the challenge by making a donation then you can do so online by going to:-

Uckfield foodbank https://uckfield.foodbank.org.uk/
Baby2babybaby2baby.co.uk

Alternatively, in line with current Covid restrictions, when customers are next in their local Uckfield bank or building society branch carrying out an essential transaction, they can also donate.

There is no rush to do donate as the challenge will be going on for a couple of months.

Please note that Branches are unable to accept any gifts or packages due to COVID restrictions.
