Uckfield Town Crier performs Cry for Peace

Saturday 15th August 2020, marked the 75th anniversary of Victory over Japan, known in short as VJ Day. It marks the anniversary of when Japan surrendered, and brought an end to the Second World War.

To help us remember all those armed forces personnel who were still fighting the Far East after the war in Europe had ended, Town Criers across the country along with local churches around the world are joining in a Cry of Peace, to ring their bells and mark this moment in history.

Uckfield’s Town Crier, Mr Ian Bedwell took part in the ‘Cry for Peace’ on Saturday 15th August 2020, at 11.10am, from Victoria Pleasure Ground Uckfield
