Uckfield Town Clerk raising money for charity has completed challenge

The Uckfield Town Council Town Clerk is raising money for Sussex Hospices by taking part in ‘Holly’s 100 Miles in May’

**Update 29th May from Holly – mission completed

She said:

‘Just to say that as of tonight (Fri 29th May) I’ve completed the #100milesinMay challenge I set myself in order to raise funds for Friends of Sussex Hospices.

‘I started on 7th May and finished tonight so in just over three weeks I achieved the challenge around working full time. I just want to say a big thank you to those who donated and supported such a fantastic cause. I really do appreciate it!

‘There’s absolutely no pressure as I recognise times are difficult for many right now, but if anyone does still wish to contribute the Just Giving page is still live, and I will be delivering the money I received offline, to the Friends of Sussex Hospices early next week:

She said:

‘A lot of charities are having a difficult time right now, especially the local hospices. With reduced staffing levels, cancelled fundraising events and additional costs of the necessary health and safety supplies and PPE to contend with, they don’t know what the next few months will look like. They do such a fantastic job taking care of those we love so let’s do something for them’

‘Holly added:

I saw a campaign called 100 miles in May and thought hey I could do that! A few miles every day – I could raise money for the local hospices and get fit too! So no pressure at all but if you can contribute a couple of pennies I will ensure the funds we raise are provided to the Friends of the Sussex Hospices and help spread our support to all of the hospices working hard in Sussex!’

Aiming to start my first walk this week and will keep you on track with my progress!
