Uckfield Local Sport Review

Inevitably, Saturday’s local football programme was decimated by Storm Dennis, including AFC Uckfield Town’s scheduled visit to Crawley Down Gatwick in the Southern Combination League.

The state of the pitch at the Oaks permitting, Uckfield’s next game is tomorrow evening, when they are due to host Lingfield, with a 7.30 pm kick-off.

The only team from our main local village sides to see some action at the weekend was Fletching, who switched their cup game with South Park ‘A’ to the Uckfield Leisure Centre All-weather pitch – Fletching winning the game 4-3.

Lewes’s trip to Enfield Town in the Betvictor Premier Division was another victim of the weather.

Meanwhile, Uckfield rugby club were able to play on Saturday, as they came away from their visit to the Old Dunstonians with a good victory by 15 points to eight.
