Santa’s sleigh has been safely stored, Lions Santa has had a rest and on Wednesday 8th the last task of a busy Christmas was completed.
Uckfield Lions welcomed Holly from The Rockinghorse Children’s Charity at The Royal Alexander Hospital .
Holly gave a presentation to the Lions members explaining that the Charity was set up in 1967 and since the move to the Royal Alexandra Hospital they are now helping to provide equipment for treating upwards of 45,000 children a year .
Also providing special care for 850 babies in Brighton and Haywards Heath Hospital.
Further information can be found on www.rockinghorse.org.uk.
Following a very interesting talk by Holly, Uckfield Lions were delighted to be able to present the Rockinghorse Charity with a cheque for £2500, being the profit (and a small top up from funds), from raffle tickets sold at Waitrose prior to Christmas.
Uckfield Lions would like to thank all those that brought tickets, and donated with the Santa sleigh. Time now for a rest for the Lions, but planning is already under way for a Big QUIZ night in the Belmont centre on 14th March, watch out for details. All monies collected are used to fund local good causes.
