Uckfield Lions continues to support local organisations

Although many of the Uckfield Lions are social distancing, though the powers of technology Lions held their normal business meeting last week on line.

High on the agenda were requests for financial assistance from local organisations. The Lions are delighted to advise that the following requests were approved.

St Peters and St James Hospice £500.00 for the replacement of umbrellas’ and bases to go outside on the small patio that provides each room with a small area to sit outside in the sun.

Demelza South East. £500.00 for the provision of memory boxes, and contents.

Demelza provide a very special memory box to the family of children facing bereavement, each box contains, a scrapbook, an inkless fingerprint kit, photo frames, memory candle, a canvas for hand and footprints, small bottle for a lock of hair, photo key ring, and a selection of small boxes for special keep sakes. These boxes help to keep memories’ of the love one lost special.

Uckfield FM £550.00, towards the cost of a UPS an uninterruptible power supply.

Uckfield FM has been broadcasting from studios in Uckfield for the last 20 years, they support all members of the community, giving access to a wide range of local news and information.  Every member of the local community potentially benefits from the services of Uckfield FM.

They continue to plan to increase their resilience to keep broadcasts on air by installing a uninterruptible power supply capability to their transmitter and rack mounted computer equipment, total cost £7100, Lions donation will pay for 50% of the cost of UPS system for the transmitter ,allowing Uckfield fm to continues it local vital broadcasts in these difficult times .
