In tomorrow’s local football, AFC Uckfield Town will be hoping to see some action after three successive postponements. Weather permitting, they are due to host relegation-threatened Hassocks at the Oaks.
Local village football looks like being disrupted by the weather again. In scheduled games in the Mid Sussex League, Ridgewood go to Sidley, while Nutley are at home to West Hoathly and Fletching host Willingdon Athletic Reserves. Buxted are away at Montpelier Villa Reserves. And elsewhere, Newick visit Eastbourne Athletic in a cup game.
After losing to the leaders Worthing in midweek, Lewes will be hoping for better fortune tomorrow, when they entertain the bottom team Brightlingsea Regent in the Betvictor Premier Division.
And after their mid-winter break, Brighton and Hove Albion return to Premier League action tomorrow afternoon with a visit to the in-form Sheffield United.
In rugby union, there’s a tough test tomorrow for Uckfield, as they host the league leaders Ashford at Hempstead Fields.
Meanwhile, Newick have a home clash with Crowbrough’s second team.
Finally, it’s good luck to the members of the Uckfield Runners Club and everyone else from the Uckfield FM area who will be taking part in the Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday morning.
