The night the town started to flood in Uckfield

On Thursday the 5th March torrential rain fell over Uckfield and the Wealden area causing issues for the River Uck and the roads of East Sussex.

The river rose significantly during the evening reaching a peak about 8:30pm when the river crossed the road, in River Way and the area of the Roller Mill and Millington Court.

As the dedicated service for Uckfield a Flood Special was produced.

The programme included interviews from Cllr Duncan Bennett, Uckfield Town Council and Cllr Claire Dowling, East Sussex County Council lead member for transport and environment.
