Uckfield Town Council has announced that the play areas in Uckfield will not reopen on Saturday 4 July as hoped.
The Covid-19 control measures required to keep residents and users safe are currently too prohibitive in terms of time, frequency and resource.
The Town Council’s Estates and Facilities Manager, Mark Francis said: “We appreciate that this may be disappointing news for some of our residents but the safety of everyone is paramount and uppermost in our minds. We will be reviewing this decision in two week’s time as more safety guidance becomes available from the UK Government. In the meantime, we would ask parents and children not to attempt to use the play areas during this time and to be assured that as soon as we can ensure their safety we will re-open them for use”
Luxfords Field play area is being upgraded and works for this begins shortly so will remain closed while this takes place.
