Pubs and restaurants which open this Saturday, and over the coming weeks, will be operating under strict Government guidelines
This means they will have to refuse to serve groups of more than six, or those of more than two households. They may ask groups to sit separately. They may ask you to queue outside in the rain if safe, socially-distanced, queuing cannot take place inside. Please co-operate with staff instructions.
Premises have different layouts and sizes, how they operate and the rules they have to apply may vary slightly and be adapted with more experience.
Tables will be placed at a distance for a reason. Please don’t try to move them closer together. Follow any one-way routes to help ensure social distancing at all times.
With pubs and restaurants having to limit the number of customers they can welcome into their premises, the Sussex Resilience Forum says it’s crucial to plan ahead, contact the venue or check their website to find out if you can visit safely.
The Government rules which pubs and restaurant are following on can be found here. Have a look. You will see how going to pub has changed. It won’t be like before Covid-19. But it’s our best way of moving forward and keeping businesses open.
Our Environmental Health Officers will continue to be out and about supporting local businesses as they maintain the new guidelines. Please be patient and help them and each other. Together we can beat Coronavirus virus.
