A local society is calling on community initiatives to bid for funds from its Community Fund as it looks to put some of the proceeds of its activities to good use in the area.
The Framfield and Blackboys Horticultural Society is offering proceeds from its Summer Show to allow good causes in the area to bid for up to £300 to support projects. There is no specific remit for the £300 fund other than to help provide ‘benefit’ to the communities of Framfield, Blackboys or Palehouse Common.
Last year the horticultural society’s community fund was able to benefit the ‘Monday Club, which provides a programme of events for senior citizens, and amateur dramatics group the Framfield Stagers, which will use the funding towards their 2020 production of ‘Sleeping Beauty’.
Trevor Hince, the Horticultural Society’s chairman said: “There is no specific remit for the fund other than to help provide ‘benefit’ to the community; for example this might be to buy equipment for a play group, support an activity that helps the elderly or something that marks a significant event for the community. Local residents know better than anyone which projects deserve help so we are urging people to put in an application.”
Forms are available from Trevor Hince (firstname.lastname@example.org/01435 863364), Ann Newton (email@example.com/01825 890182) or Terry Everitt (firstname.lastname@example.org) . The deadline for applications is 30th April 2020 and, if awarded, funding can start from November.
