Earlier in November, we reported on 1st Buxted (O’Brien’s Own) Scout Group running a Christmas Tree Sale to raise vital funds for the organisation
We are pleased to report that the tree sale was a resounding success raising over four thousand pounds after online appeals and a radio appearance on the Morning show with Tony Williams
“This years Tree Sale far outsold last years for which we are very grateful”! Said the group; “It really makes all the hard work, time and effort from our Leaders and Executive Committee worthwhile. The trees and apple juice were either collected or delivered last Saturday, 5th December and the raffle drawn at midday with the hampers offering a little pre-Christmas treat for the winners. The sun even came out to add a little winter warmth”.
“A huge thank you is extended to each and everyone who supported us and helped raise the amazing sum of £4800. This will go directly into supporting Scouting activities for the coming year”.
Here are some direct quotes from Buxted Talk and Blackboys, Framfield and Palehouse Common Community:-
‘Fantastic! We were thrilled with our tree. Thank you so much.’ ‘Well done Buxted Scouts, what a fabulous tree.’ ‘Had ours delivered by them from them! Fantastic tree and glad we can contribute to such a great organisation.’
Attached are some images of the trees being worked on and delivered and even one on display in a living room
