Chailey Heritage is asking its supporters to embrace the chilly festive season and wear a woolly hat.
The charity is wants everyone to brave the bobble and the beanie to help support their work for young people with disabilities. Giving a head start to proceedings are Chailey’s 12 hats of Christmas – modelled by staff, service users and Darcey the chicken from the charity’s Patchwork Farm. The seasonal stars include:
Elliott, 7 from Tunbridge Wells and Anastasia 6 from Seaford who are pupils at Chailey Heritage School
Martha Everest, aged 4 from Crowborough, who is the cousin of a pupil at Chailey Heritage School
Gareth from Haywards Heath who runs the onsite Café at Chailey Heritage
Young supoporter Rose, aged 1 from Haywards Heath
Jenna and Joy from the CHF fundraising team
CHF Activities coordinator Rosie, from Worthing
Chailey Heritage School Music teacher Yvonne
Ellie, 13 from Worth, who is a Chailey Heritage School pupil
CHF School sports development officer, Al
And last but not least Lesley, Patchwork Farm Manager with Darcy the chicken!
Jenna Durdle, Chailey Heritage’s Fundraising Manager said: “I take my hat off to all our fantastic supporters but this year for one day we are asking them to put their woolly hats ON and help boost our funds. COVID-19 has made 2020 a very tough year for charities, but we were determined to put a smile on everyone’s face and that’s where our Woolly Hat Wednesday comes in.”
On Wednesday 9th December – you can text HATS to 70251 to give just £2 to Chailey Heritage. Post your photos on social media with the hashtag #whw. All the money raised goes to support children and young people with the most complex physical and learning challenges.
Jenna added: “I am sure everyone has a woolly hat that could do with an outing! We can’t wait to see what our supporters have been hiding in their wardrobes! This is a chance to have some festive fun while raising much needed funds for our amazing young people at Chailey Heritage.”
There are all sorts of ways to get involved – here are just some ideas to get you started!
