Wednesday 9th December Chailey People Heritage Foundation held “Woolly Hat Wednesday” where people donated £2 to the charity for wearing their hat, from bog standard beanies, to novelty Christmas pudding styles or even a stylish ski hat, nothing was off limits.
Donations are still coming in and the final amount raised is more than £1900.
Burgess Hill Girls raised a whopping £1135 alone.
Pupils and teachers in the Senior School and Sixth Form donned a variety of headwear including Woolly Hats, Christmas Hats and some exceptionally creative self-made designs.
Community Fundraiser Joy Dyson said: “Hats off to all our supporters who joined in the fun. We are very grateful to them all.
“Judging by the pictures on social media, it looked like people were having fun, and of course that is so important, especially at the present time.”
If you missed Woolly Hat Wednesday, do not worry!
Just wear your woolly hat on a day of your choice, or even a whole week and donate £2.
