An East Sussex Visitor attraction staging its first ever Christmas cinema experience is organising special performances for Covid 19 heroes and local charities.
Sharnfold Farm, situated on the Hailsham Road between Eastbourne and Stone Cross, is premiering its Farmyard Cinema: Festive Fun on the Farm event between December 4-23.
It wants to offer the community a much-needed boost after a challenging 2020 by hosting some very special guests who have been the heroes of the country this year.
Donna Bull from owner Kent Entertainments Limited said: “We are creating something magical here at Sharnfold Farm for the festive period.
“Tickets are going very well and recent announcements will mean more people will now be looking to celebrate Christmas with something special to do.
“We felt it was only right to invite some of the people locally who have truly gone above and beyond during the two Lockdowns.”
On Friday December 4, they are looking to invite 15 Covid heroes, people who have gone that bit extra to make life easier for others.
It could be a neighbour who has done shopping for a shielded friend, it could be someone who has telephoned a lonely person on a regular basis, it could be anyone who has made a difference, however small.
The 15 people will be treated like Royalty on December 4 with their own special screening starting at 4pm and will be able to bring a guest to enjoy the experience with. It is totally Covid secure.
Nominations can be made, in confidence, by emailing email@example.com
They are also staging three charity performances on
- December 10 at 4pm It’s A Wonderful Life
- December 14 at 4pm Miracle on 34th Street
- December 15 at 4pm How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Films to be staged between December 4-23 include Home Alone, Love Actually, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Die Hard, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Elf, It’s A Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street and The Holiday.
But it’s much more than just watching a film.
The experience starts with a wander through the snow-covered wintry wonderland surrounded by Christmas trees adorned with festive lights and decorations.
Next stroll through the mesmerising light tunnel that will transport you into the depths of the enchanted forest cinema space where you will watch the film.
Due to Covid, each filming is limited to 30 people but everything will comply with social distancing. Cost is £25 per ticket.
