Uckfield RFC 1s 0 v Park House RFC 1s 0
A highly unusual score Saturday at Hempstead Fields.
On a bright cold day, a nice change from the non stop rain, a very strong and competitive Park House camped in the Uckfield 22 for the first half but were unable to break through a resilient defence aided by some great clearing kicks by Dan Poulton and Charlie Buckland, they did not help themselves with a couple of forward passes when it looked easier to score. A very boring and frustrating first half 0 – 0
At halftime came a chance for the Uckfield coaches to work their magic and get the side into the game, and it worked some good ball retention passé and Uckfield were at last in Park House 22 but this was to be a day for defences and Parkhouse kept Uckfield out.
The game nearly came alive with a late tackle and some afters meaning the Uckfield 10 and the Park House prop taking a 10 minute break.
Park House made a couple more chances but the referee was close by to see infringements and give Uckfield penalties and frustrate them. The game was still a very hard fought match but sadly ended with two teams who needed a win sharing the spoils.
Uckfield move onto Vigo, in Meopham,Kent next Saturday looking to get back to winning ways but knowing all the games in London SE3 are tough and you earn wins through hard work and good preparation.
