Uckfield United had a good win on Saturday against Mid Sussex rivals Burgess Hill Albion 2’s.
A slow start put the hummers 1-0 down but in tricky windy Conditions battled back with hard work and some neat play at times, Harrison Burley again dictating the game and getting the hummers playing and it was himself that got the team level with a well struck 30yd shot that took a slight touch from the Albion centre back wrong footing the keeper! writes Kelvin Walsh
After this Harrison again tested the keeper form 25yds with a good effort that the keeper could only save by putting it into the path of the Jay Pullen who again was exceptional in midfield breaking up play and bulling the opposition.
Second half Uckfield started with a better approach and letting the ball do the work and began to tire Burgess hill out Sid began making the Burgess hill defence dizzy with some pretty foot work, this creating plenty of gaps for Uckfield midfield to get on the ball and again Harrison found space from 30yds to again force the keeper to tip onto the post for the ball then to roll along the line for Adam Wilkinson to smash home!!
After coming of the bench Chris Evans was holding up the ball well and it was his pass that fed in James draper to calmly slot home Uckfield’s 4th to round of a good performance from him also.
Uckfield also had a goal ruled out from Barry squires with no one really understanding why? Positives to take from the performance and great to know there’s more to come and signs we are finally starting to find some rhythm.
MoM – James Draper and Harrison Burley!
