The replacement fence has now been installed alongside Rocks Road its border with Lakewood.
Workers from The Woodland Trust are hard at work this week, in Rocks Road taking down a wall bordering Lake Wood, that was in such a poor condition that it risked collapsing at any moment, according to one of the workers.
He went on to explain that the wall had originally come down in the storm of 1987 and been replaced with an inferior wall made from brick block.
The mortar in that had now perished and made the wall unsafe. By the end of the week, The Woodland Trust hope to have a green mesh fence up in its place, similar to other sections in the wall.
