Wealden District Council’s Grants Hill Court affordable housing scheme has won a national Housing Design Award.
The £11 million scheme in Oaklea Way, Uckfield, won the Housing our Ageing Population Panel for Innovation Award.
It was judged the best entry for providing innovative housing solutions for older people.
The development has 65 apartments and two cottages, all at social rents. Every aspect of the design had been considered with our architects PRP and the developers Thakeham.
Details, right down to colour scheme, are very important when ensuring new homes as dementia-friendly as possible.
