Emergency Services Day

Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner has endorsed plans by the Government to give better protection for the counties police officers.

Emergency Services Day is a Parliament backed national day which takes place on 9th September each year. Yesterday, the Home Secretary pledged a commitment to enshrining a Police Covenant in law. It creates a statutory duty to do more to support police officers and their families, recognising the bravery and sacrifices they make to protect us all.

Commissioner, Katy Bourne said that today is the perfect opportunity for us all to take a moment to thank the women and men serving on the frontline for Sussex Police, who have been there for us in all weathers, 24 hours of every day.
