Margaret Dode Angel from Sussex Support Services is campaigning to try and get carers Protective Protection Equipment.

She was interviewed by Tony Williams and this is what she said:

She also sent Uckfield FM a short statement:

I am getting calls from carers & PA’s not being able to get hold of basic PPE or being charged crazy prices for items including gloves, aprons and hand gel.

They are often visiting the most vulnerable in our community and visiting several individuals in a day. As they are not part of a larger agency or organisation they are falling between the cracks and not getting any PPE.

Therefore I am trying to coordinate some PPE for those in dire emergency and have so far managed to support a few carers with stock I already had.

I have managed to get hold of some not lots basic PPE, gloves aprons and hand gel to do refills. Should be with me on Friday and will carry on trying to get required items.  We are now starting to get offers of PPE and support which is great.

Any carers requiring urgent PPE please ask them to get hold of me via email or over the phone and I can add them to my data base of what is needed and will distribute from the pavilion.

I am also available for telephone support for independent paid carers & PA’s if they require.
