In the weekend’s local football – weather permitting – AFC Uckfield Town will be looking to follow up their good cup win at Eastbourne United in midweek, as they return to league action tomorrow with a visit to third-from-bottom Pagham.

In scheduled matches in the Mid Sussex Football League, Ridgewood are away to Roffey Reserves, while Nutley host Ashurst Wood.  There are also home fixtures for Buxted against AFC Acorns and for Newick, who take on Barcombe.  Elsewhere, Fletching go to Plumpton Athletic and Maresfield are at Willingdon’s third team.

In the Betvictor Premier Division, Lewes travel to second-bottom Merstham.

Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove Albion have to wait until Monday evening for their next game in the Premier League, as they visit arch-rivals Crystal Palace.

Finally, in rugby union, it’s one of the biggest games of the season tomorrow afternoon for Uckfield, who welcome near neighbours Heathfield and Waldron to Hempstead Fields.

Elsewhere in local rugby, Newick have a home clash with St Francis.
