AFC Uckfield Town’s amazing record-breaking run in this season’s FA Vase came to an end on Saturday after a four-one defeat by Windsor in a thrilling cup-tie at the Oaks.
The visitors took a two-nil lead inside the first 12 minutes, only for Callum Smith to reduce the arrears in the 15th minute. Despite exerting much of the pressure and creating several chances, Uckfield conceded a third goal early in the second half, before Windsor sealed their victory with 15 minutes left.
Uckfield return to league action tomorrow evening, when they visit Shoreham.
It was also a disappointing weekend for Uckfield rugby club. They went down to their first defeat of the season, losing by 15 points to eight to Burgess Hill at Hempstead Fields.
