In tomorrow’s local football, AFC Uckfield Town will hope to bounce back from their midweek home defeat, as they host bottom-of-the-table Shoreham in the Southern Combination League. Kick-off at the Oaks is at the usual time of 3 pm.

In the Mid Sussex League, all of our main local village teams in action this weekend have away fixtures. Buxted go to Rotherfield. Nutley are away at Mile Oak Reserves. Ridgewood visit Montpelier Villa Reserves, whilst Newick face Ditchling Reserves and Maresfield take on Hurstpierpoint Reserves.

Lewes will be looking for all three points to re-kindle their faltering play-off hopes in the Bostik Premier League, as they entertain fifth-placed Merstham.

And Brighton and Hove Albion are on the road to Wembley tomorrow, as they make their first appearance in an FA Cup semi-final since 1983. The Seagulls meet Premier League leaders and champions Manchester City at Wembley Stadium in a five-thirty kick-off.

It’s the start of the new County Championship season for Sussex’s cricketers this morning, as they face Leicestershire at the County Ground Hove.

And it’s also a season opener this weekend for the Eastbourne Eagles speedway team. The Eagles begin their 2019 campaign tomorrow evening with the visit of Birmingham in the Championship Shield. The meeting at the Arlington Stadium starts at the later time of eight o’clock.

For horse racing fans, there’s another National Hunt meeting at Plumpton on Sunday afternoon, with the first race due off at 2.15.

And finally, Newick rugby club stage a special charity rugby match tomorrow afternoon in aid of Cancer Research UK. The game is at the King George the fifth Playing Field in Newick and begins at half-past one.
