Elsewhere in the Sussex Cricket League, Fletching piled up 336 in their 109-run win over Glynde and Beddingham’s second team. Isfield had an exciting two-wicket victory over Heathfield Park, and there was a good win for Maresfield, who beat Bells Yew Green’s second eleven by seven wickets.
Nutley lost to Hailsham’s third team by 28 runs. And there were also defeats for Newick, who lost by just two runs at Battle, and for Blackboys, who went down by six wickets to Polegate and Stone Cross’s second team.
Meanwhile, the Sussex Sharks maintained their unbeaten record in the T20 Blast after an exciting victory over Gloucestershire at Bristol yesterday – the Sharks winning by three wickets with two balls to spare.
Finally, there were mixed fortunes over the weekend for the Eastbourne Eagles speedway team. And yesterday, Eastbourne lost 53-37 at Redcar in the Championship.
