In the weekend’s local football, AFC Uckfield Town play their final away match of the season in the Southern Combination League tomorrow, as they visit fourth-from-bottom Little Common.  Uckfield are back at the Oaks on Easter Monday morning, when they host Lingfield in an eleven o’clock kick-off.

In the Mid Sussex League, Buxted are away at Forest Row tomorrow and then visit Willingdon on Monday.  Nutley are also in action on Monday – they go to Polegate Town.

Lewes will be looking for maximum points from their two games over the holiday weekend to keep their play-off hopes alive.  They entertain fellow play-off chasing Bishops Stortford tomorrow, before making the short trip to relegation-threatened Burgess Hill on Monday.

And following back-to-back home defeats over the past week, which has left them just two points above the relegation zone, Brighton and Hove Albion face another crunch match tomorrow in their bid for Premier League survival, as they visit Wolves.

In cricket, Uckfield Anderida play their opening pre-season friendly tomorrow afternoon, when they take on local rivals Buxted Park at the Victoria Ground.  Play starts at one o’clock.

Meanwhile, Sussex’s county team begin their Royal London One-Day Cup campaign today, as they host Surrey.  Play at the County Ground Hove starts at one o’clock.  Sussex go on to visit Kent at Beckenham on Sunday.

The Eastbourne Eagles speedway team will be looking to make it three straight wins this afternoon, when they welcome Birmingham to the Arlington Stadium in the first round of the Knockout Cup.  The meeting gets underway at three o’clock.

And finally, there’s a treat for local horse racing fans over the weekend.  Brighton Racecourse stages its opening meeting of the season this afternoon, with the first race due off at half past four.  And there’s the two-day Easter Festival meeting at Plumpton on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
