Rescued hedgehogs in need of newspapers to keep warm this winter

East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service  have put out an appeal for newspapers.

During the autumn and winter the charity looks after dozens of rescued hedgehogs and other animals that cannot be left out in the wild during the winter months and newspapers are used for bedding.

There are over 120 hedgehogs in their care and this number is likely to rise in the next few weeks as the weather gets colder.

Founder Trevor Weeks MBE told Uckfield FM:

‘If anyone can help by collecting and dropping off it would be a massive help and appreciated.I

‘If people can collect them locally from friends, relatives, ask betting shops, their local bus station, train station and supermarkets’

Please no magazines, shiny, office  or shredded paper and preferably without staples.

The address of WRAS is The Shaw Barn, Whitesmith. BN8 6JD.
