Nutley’s unbeaten run came to an end with a sound thrashing at Robertsbridge.
Having asked the hosts to bat they slumped to 18 for 3 before James Paxton (32) brought some stability. When he fell it became the Nice and Mardell show as the pair destroyed Nutley’s bowlers with an array of huge shots to all parts of the ground. Paul Nice (160 no) scored his second century of the season against Nutley while Lee Mardell (137) scored his maiden century taking Robertsbridge to a massive 354 for 5.
Only Warren Freer (3/23) escaped the onslaught.
Nutley’s reply never got going and having to try and play aggressively they lost wickets regularly and crashed to 72 for 7 as Lewis Chapman (3/28) and Darren Barlow (3/33) bowled superbly to back up the great work done by the hosts batsmen. Freer (48) and Paul Carter (20no) gave the score some respectability as Nutley were dismissed for 154.
