The Uckfield Bonfire and Carnival Society announced on Monday that the 2019 Street Collection had raised £3,725.36.
They also announced that a Just Giving Crowd Funding appeal was launched to help raise £500 to add to that total.
100% of the money donated on the street collection is donated to local charities and good causes.
The Just Giving page said:
‘For everyone who could not be at Uckfield Carnival on Saturday 7 Sep or did not have any change on the night, here’s your opportunity to donate to the street collection.
The annual Uckfield Carnival is the first of the season of Sussex Bonfires which are taking place all over the county from the start of September to the end of November. The street collections are used to give back to the local community. 100% of the collection is donated to local charities and good causes.
In Uckfield this is normally around £4000 each year and across the Sussex societies over £60,000 is donated annually’
In 2018 the society raised £3900 and the year earlier in 2017 raised a record amount of £4,120.15.
Next year the date for the Carnival is Saturday September 5.
