The Annual Charity Barn Dance organized by Dawson Hart Solicitors and kindly sponosored by Vince Taylor Tofts Estate Agents.
What better way to spend a very wet October night, than to dance it away at the Dawson Hart Solicitors annual Ceilidh Dance held at the Cinque Ports in Uckfield.
All dances were taught and called by the very talented James Kerry Band who kept everyone going in the right direction, well mostly! There was lots of twirling, and gallops, tunnels but most of a lot of laugher.
There was a monster raffle with kind donations from local business including East Sussex National, Café 212, Knockhatch Adventure Park, Hartfields, Cristobels, Buxted Park, i36o tickets and lots, lots more. The star prize donated by staff at Dawson Hart was a wheelbarrow of booze with the wheelbarrow kindly donated by The Stores Department in Uckfield.
There were over 90 people enjoying the evening in aid of the Hospice in the Weald, Dawson Hart’s Charity of the year. Hospice in the Weald provides care completely free of charge to patients with a terminal illness, their families and carers in West Kent and Northern East Sussex. This means that they are there 24 hours a day to help, support and care for patients with an illness where a cure is no longer possible.
The event was kindly sponsored by Vince Taylor Tofts who have been busy with the merger of Taylor Tofts and Dixon Vince so it is great they were able to come to the event and enjoy the celebrations. Vince Talyor Tofts are an independent estate agency and they offer a professional and realistic approach to estate agency.
There was a prize for the best dancer and Laura Manton, Director at Dawson Hart was pleased to announce that the evening raised over £840 for the Hospice, she said this was a great result. She also said “The best thing about the event is seeing everyone pull together to make the event a success whilst having a thoroughly good time! Thank you to Ron Hill for braving the rain and coming to take some photographs for us”
Laura continued “A member of the James Kerry Band had to make a dash for it at the end of the evening having heard his girlfriend had gone into labour. We wish them every happiness with the birth of their baby!”

Update “James in the band has just emailed (Sunday) me to say he made it to the hospital in time, just – a baby girl was born within 45minutes of him arriving at the hospital!!”
