On Sunday 5th and Monday 6th May 2019, the second annual Spring Live! event will take place at the South of England Showground. Organisers have now announced that the much-loved gardening theatre has blossomed and will return with a bigger programme for budding gardeners and enthusiasts.
Green-fingered visitors of all ages are in for a treat as the Society is offering a range of shopping opportunities, interactive workshops and a number of panel talks over the two-day event.
Sitting on the board on this year’s gardening panel is BBC Sussex, Surrey and Kent’s Jean Griffin, Neil Helyer, integrated pest management specialist at Fargro, Mark Dobell of Gardener’s Den, which provides professional gardening services, and Paul Dalby of the National Vegetable Society, and Dahlia grower.. The Head Gardener at Leonardslee Gardens, Ray Abrahams, will also be on hand to talk to guests about the new look of the key Sussex attraction.
All generations will love the pumpkin and squash seed sewing workshops. Participants can even enter their delicious vegetables planted at the show, and nurtured at home, into a competition at the Society’s Autumn Show & Game Fair in October
Furthermore, with the ever-growing threat to our global bee population, the Sussex Beekeepers’ Association will be on hand to chat to visitors and give advice on how we can help the insects that are so vital to our survival.
