AFC Uckfield Town back on the road to Wembley

AFC Uckfield Town are back on the FA Cup trail again this Saturday, following their landmark victory over Glebe a fortnight ago – their first-ever win in the most prestigious domestic cup competition in the world.  Uckfield will be hoping to continue their money-spinning run, as they face Broadfields United in the FA Cup Preliminary Round at the Oaks.

Broadfields, who are based in Harrow, play in Division One of the Spartan South Midlands League.  They have made an impressive start to the season, with three wins out of four in the league and a 3-0 win over Banstead in the previous round.

Uckfield also go into the game in fine form, after an excellent 4-1 win at Eastbourne United on Tuesday night.  Matt Black scored twice, and Shaun Loft and Callum Smith were also on target.

These are exciting times for AFC Uckfield Town, and the club are hoping for a good crowd on Saturday to get behind its emerging young team in what is described as the biggest game in the club’s history.  So, come along and support the town’s senior club.

The club’s technical kit and signage partner Winning Look will be the official match sponsor for Saturday’s match.  And player/manager Anthony Storey’s eight-year daughter will be the team’s mascot for the day.

Kick-off at the Oaks is at 3 pm.

If you are unable to get to the game, listen out for regular updates on Uckfield FM’s Saturday Sport programme with David Eggleston from 2 pm.
